Free Playlist Generator

Playlist Generator lets you build mp3 winamp compatible playlists from the TAG information contained in your .mp3 files, if a TAG does not exist then the artist and title can be extracted from the filename.

With Playlist Generator you can generate mp3 playlists based on your current mood, sometimes you might want to rock and so the utility will select all your mp3 rock tracks.   Other times you may just want to chill, playlist generator will then just pick songs you specify by selecting particular artists, titles or albums.  PG also lets you specify what time period to pick songs from (so you can have your own little trips down memory lane...)  After generating your mp3 playlist one click will load it into Winamp where they will automatically start playing.

Other criteria used to pick songs can optionially include the contents of the 'comment' field in the TAG record, length of the song and total number of songs to include, maximum playing time of playlist, maximum size of mp3s in playlist (useful for organinsing your mp3s or for downloading to portable players).

Playlist generator works by searching your mp3 folders (including subfolders if desired) for songs and then extracting the information from each file's TAG or filename.   The output is an .m3u file (a Winamp playlist file) that you can either load direct into Winamp or save for later use - the playlist can also be saved as a HTML document.

Playlist Generator also lets you edit multiple mp3 file tags in one go which means you can tag your collection much faster than changing one at a time.

You can also cache your mp3 collection for faster playlist generation.
